Biography
Erick Kahn is owner of Music Kahncepts Studios in Arlington, TX, where he teaches and produces music for Classical and Jazz Guitar, Bass Guitar and Ukulele. He has over 20 years of experience in teaching and recording music and performing as a Soloist and with well renowned musicians.
For the past 15 years, Mr. Kahn has been a full time teacher of guitar, ukulele, bass and music theory at multiple locations to include: Music Kahncepts Studios, Fort Worth Academy, Northstar High School, Clay Academy, lessons.com and Music & Arts Center in Arlington, TX.
Prior to moving to Texas, Mr. Kahn performed, produced and taught Classical and Jazz guitar in New Orleans, LA and moved to Arlington Texas in 2005 where he performed as a Guitar Soloist with Jazz ensembles in the DFW area.
He also produced recordings for local bands utilizing his expertise with the latest technology.

Exploring New Frontiers in Guitar
Mr. Kahn expands his techniques across genres while inspiring students through Music Kahncepts.In 2024 and 2025, Mr. Kahn will continue to explore new frontiers in guitar techniques, particularly in music composition, encompassing classical, jazz, flamenco, blues, pop, and more. While he delves into these new areas, his primary focus remains on his company, Music Kahncepts, where he continues to teach and showcase these innovative techniques to his students. As always, he collaborates with them on music videos and recitals.
Flamenco Fusion
A journey to Spain ignites a passion for flamenco and inspires “Rumba Para Aida.”Mr. Kahn embarks on a journey to Spain, determined to uncover the origins of the flamenco language. This captivating tradition encompasses dance, singing, and a highly refined guitar technique. Enthralled by the art form, Mr. Kahn purchases a flamenco guitar and returns to the US. Resuming his lessons with Diego eager to delve deeper into its intricacies. He composed a flamenco fusion guitar piece titled “Rumba Para Aida” as a dedication to his wife.
Mastering the Eighth String
Studying with Diego Salvetti refines technique and sparks new compositions.Mr. Kahn advanced his musical career by taking master classes with Diego Salvetti, an Italian guitar virtuoso residing in Brazil. They focused on the eighth-string classical guitar techniques. Mr. Kahn enhanced his musical knowledge and teaching methods with Diego’s insights and composed original pieces for the instrument, like “From Dusk Till Dawn” to mention one.
Sharing the Gift of Music
Teaching guitar, ukulele, bass, and theory to students worldwide.Erick currently enjoys teaching students in person and online at Music Kahncepts Studios. He teaches students of all ages, from beginners to advanced. His lessons include guitar, ukulele, bass, and music theory.
A New Home in Texas

Jazz in New Orleans
Private studies with jazz masters and continued performances and teaching.Mr. Kahn later moved to New Orleans, LA where he took private jazz guitar courses with Steve Masakowski and Hank Mackie as well as others. Were he kept performing, producing and teaching Classical and Jazz guitar.
A Tempo Productions
Writing jingles and scores for global brands like Pepsi and Finlandia.In 1990, Kahn opened his recording studio and production company, “A TEMPO”, where for 8 years he wrote jingles and music for documentaries, for national and international companies. Some of these prestigious companies include: Pepsi, Vodka Finlandia, Tootsie Roll, etc. Along with several TV, ratio stations and advertisement companies.
Acoustic Ensamble on Stage
From Guatemala’s best musicians to New Orleans Jazz Festival performances.In 1983 Erick Kahn launched his Jazz band “ACOUSTIC ENSAMBLE”. The band played with some of Guatemala’s best musicians such as Byron Sosa, Carlos Gomez, Miguel Angel Villagran, Fernando Perez, Julino Gonzales, and well as other national and international renowned musicians. In 1985 the ACOUSTIC ENSAMBLE was invited by Pat Jolly, famous New Orleans Producer, to play at the Heritage New Orleans Jazz Festival. The band played at the festival for three continuous years. Mr. Kahn continues his relationships and performs to date with some of the Jazz Festival musicians; Patrice Fisher, Tony Degrady, Rick Marguitza, Tomoko Block, Ector Gayardo, Jimmy Robinson, and Ector Infanson, Angel Rios as well as others.
Conservatory Foundations
Formal studies in classical guitar, harmony, and composition in Guatemala.In 1977, Erick Kahn started his musical studies at the Guatemalan National Conservatory with Professors Alejandro Herrera and Rene Abularach on classical guitar. Erick focused his study on harmony and composition with Igor de Gandarias, Joaquin Orellana and Jorge Sarmientos. In 1988 Mr. Kahn became a classical guitar assistant teacher at the same establishment.
